Mill Centre staff & helpers
Sue Middleton is our cook. She provides excellent healthy lunches to meet all dietary requirements, using locally sourced ingredients. Lunches are served to Hempnall residents on Wednesdays and Thursdays and to Social Services clients on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Margaret Sparham hosts the two days for Hempnall residents, supervising and co-ordinating these days. A range of activities and outings occur throughout the year.
Social Services provide the supervisory staffing for their two days, Stephanie Howard and Mary Last, whilst using our cook and volunteers to provide the lunches. Social Services also provide transport to the Mill on these days.
Terry Balaam is the caretaker, helping to maintain the property on a weekly basis. We also employ a cleaner (Jo Batstone) and a keyholder (Jenny Leeder).
Our volunteers are a very important part of the mill community and without them we would not be able to function. They help in the kitchen with the preparation and serving of the meals.
Volunteers give their time on a one day per week basis, either weekly, fortnightly or as cover when required, according to their individual availability. We also have volunteer drivers to collect those residents from their home who require assistance (Maurice Webb and Ned Potts).
We are always looking for new volunteers and if you are interested in becoming one please contact Jean Griffiths ( 01508 499421).
