Mill Centre bookings

The Mill Centre can be booked for private functions at any time of year and has a working kitchen, etc.  It is also hired by many local organisations and groups in the evenings and weekends.  The main hall is approximately 6m x 11m with a separate tower room. Located on Mill Road, Hempnall, Norwich, NR15 2LP.

Fees

  • Hempnall residents : £4.50 per hour
  • Non-residents : £5.00 per hour

Rules & Regulations to be adhered to for all bookings

  1. Letting fees to be paid 7 days in advance by the Hirer in accordance with the scale of charges current at the time of booking.  Fees not refundable unless 14 days notice of cancellation given.  If booking a regular slot then these are paid a month or term in advance.
  2. Charges may be adjusted to meet increased costs, though no change in the fee will be made within 28 days of the booking where payment has been made in advance.
  3. Only accommodation and equipment specified at the time of letting to be used. 
  4. Hirers must leave the accommodation and furniture in the position and condition in which they find it.  Where relevant, please sweep the floor and leave tables and chairs clean.  Brushes, cloths etc are available. 
  5. Additional chairs and tables – are kept in the large store room adjoining the main hall, further chairs are kept in the shed outside (key to which can be found in the top draw in the office adjoining the main hall, which must be returned safely).  Please note that any additional chairs and/or tables used must be returned to their relevant storage area at the end of the hiring period (the hall chairs must only be stacked 3 high).
  6. A returnable deposit of £20.00 is payable at the time of booking.  This will be returned after the booking, unless additional cleaning is required and if crockery and cutlery are used, refundable less cost of damage/breakages.
  7. Contact details – a list of contact details are displayed on the front door of the Mill Centre.
  8. Cleaning is undertaken once a day, usually early morning, to be ready for the main use (day care services), and therefore we ask that all users leave the hall in a serviceable condition for other users.
  9. Nails, tacks, screws, adhesives (including blutac) etc. must not be used on walls, floors, ceilings, furniture or fittings and no decorations of any kind should be put up without permission.
  10. Footwear likely to damage the floor is prohibited.
  11. ALL LITTER and property belonging to the Hirer must be removed at the end of the hiring.
  12. Alteration to the heating and lighting system is forbidden.
  13. The Hirer shall not infringe any copyright or performing rights and must undertake to indemnify the Management Committee against the costs of infringement.
  14. Alcohol may be consumed on the premises with the permission of the Management Committee but NO licence may be obtained to SELL alcohol.
  15. The Hirer undertakes to bear the cost of making good any damage to property of the Hempnall Mill Centre including damage by fire through neglect or default of the Hirer or the organisation or his or their servants or agents.
  16. No accommodation will be let beyond 11.30pm.  The Hirer is to ensure that the public vacate the premises promptly and quietly.
  17. Maximum numbers permitted in the hall:- seated 60 buffet 80
  18. The right of entry to the centre at any time is reserved the Management Committee, the Caretaker or any other agent of the Committee and any Police Officer.
  19. The Committee reserves the right to put a stop to any entertainment or meeting not properly conducted.
  20. Cars should be parked in the Mill car park and are not be parked on the grass or in Millfields.
  21. The Management Committee shall not be liable for any injury (including injury resulting in death) or damage to or loss of property, which shall or may occur to, or be sustained by the Hirer, his servants or agents, or others entering on the property in exercise or purported exercise of the hiring (except such injury or damage as may occur by reason of neglect by the Management Committee or its servants or its agents acting within the scope of their authority).  The Hirer will indemnify and keep indemnified the Management Committee, its servants and agents from and against all claims and liabilities in respect of such injury or damage and all actions, proceedings, costs, damages and expenses in regard thereto, also from and against all other liability claims, demands, proceedings, costs, damages and expenses in respect of injury to persons whomsoever (including injury resulting in death) and damage to or loss of property whatsoever which may arise from, or in consequence of, the exercise or purported exercise of the hiring.
